About

Çağla Gülsa Kabaca — Floral Designer & Botanical Artist

Çağla Gülsa Kabaca is a London-based floral designer, botanical artist and painter working primarily with preserved and dried flowers. She is the Creative Director and Head Floral Designer at Créateur Flowers, where her team creates event florals and brand installations across London, and takes on artful weddings and creative projects worldwide.

The work

Çağla has been designing florally since 2016. Her work spans blooming and sculptural bloomy designs mixed with delicate dried flowers, dried floral sculptural wabi-sabi pieces and ikebana, alongside small and large-scale installations, event floral pieces, bridal work and bouquet building, and custom commissions shaped from a client's moodboard and narrative.

Whatever the scale, each piece emerges through layering and structural composition — matching a floral and colour brief with her own texture and colour sensitivity. Structure is directed by the enquiry itself: compact or airy, sculptural, symmetric or asymmetrical. She enjoys the problem-solving side too, substituting missing ingredients with the closest textures and tones so a piece still lands exactly where the client intended.

She works across dried, preserved, fresh and artificial botanicals, along with branches and raw materials gathered from nature, choosing the medium by what each piece asks for rather than committing to a single material. The practice is project-based and collaborative: taking a brief, moodboard or narrative and translating it into physical form — a single bouquet, a bridal collection, a custom commission, or a full-scale installation.

Roots and muse

Çağla was born in Istanbul and her heart belongs to the Aegean. İzmir and the Aegean coast are her homeland — at her core she is still an Aegean country girl, shaped by wild grasses, olive light, dry seed heads and the long, sun-bleached palette of that landscape. She has lived in the UK since 2018, and London has broadened her creative language without ever replacing where she comes from.

Her travels to Japan are her enduring muse. The wabi-sabi sensibility that runs through her work — beauty in imperfection, restraint, negative space, the honesty of a material as it ages — comes from time spent there, and from ikebana's discipline of line and asymmetry. Turkish roots and Japanese quiet meet somewhere in the middle of every piece she makes.

She currently lives in London with her cat and her dog.

Workshops & collections

Alongside client work, Çağla runs a limited number of workshops each year and releases seasonal collections shaped around the same wabi-sabi sensibility.
